This is the moment a police officer distracted a little girl at a crash scene while his colleagues pulled her parents and three siblings from the wreckage.

Her father died in the crash in Brighton, Colorado, on Thursday morning after their car blew a tire and spiraled out of control.

Ambulances took the child and two of her three siblings to hospital. Her mother and another sibling were airlifted to the emergency room.  

Witness Jessica Matrious told NBC News she was driving along the Interstate 76 when she saw the SUV flip and roll into the grass 

 Nobody in the car was wearing a seatbelt. The father was killed at the wheel, while the rest of those in the car are in hospital

'It's so horrible to see something like that happen, especially because it could have been prevented. 

'If the father was wearing a seatbelt, then he'd still be here.'

It is not clear what condition the children and mother are in.
